This is what happens every time my children paint. I don't mind though. It washes off easily and we wouldn't have such an awesome shot of him if we didn't allow it.
We have been pretty lazy lately. Well as lazy as parents of 5 children can be :) Ron and I are starting a photography business taking pictures of children/people with special needs. We are pretty excited about it.
A question asked of us about this time of year is "Do you take a break for the summer?" This question doesn't make much sense to me. Do we stop learning during the summer? Of course not! Learning happens when learning happens. You don't have to be in public school and you don't need certain hours where you sit down and learn. Learning happens through life. What a boring summer it would be if learning didn't happen! No children!!! Put down that worm. Get out of that forest! NO you cannot measure that ingredient! Nope no math for you guys today! No reading, laughing or playing! Get my point?

Fire Station Field Trip

You can't tell but this field trip had over 25 children and about 10 adults. I am just posting family pics. Cousins Sawyer and Finn got to come too! You should have seen Sawyer's face. Look at it. He was SO serious and looked at those firefighters in awe. It was so sweet.

Fire Station Field Trip

The fire station field trip was amazing!
First, the kids got to go through a trailer and learn about fire safety. A firefighter talked about safety in the kitchen with the stove, poisons and the microwave. It was wonderful. The kids were captured.
Next they got to call 911 and a firefighter was on the other end.
Then they filled the room with fake smoke and taught them what to do. They then crawled through a window into the waiting arms of another firefighter.
The kids then moved on to watch 2 movies about fire safety.
They learned about the fire house and their uniforms.
Then came the fire truck. They got to climb in and try out different things on the truck.
Thank you so much to the wonderful firefighters who volunteered to teach out homeschooling group!

Callum

Look at this sweet baby face! Callum was baptized this past Sunday. When the priest was putting the oil under his chin, Callum was letting them rip. I didn't hear this but others did! lol
It was a nice relaxing family day. Thank you to all who attended.

Callum's Baptism

Here are some more pictures of the baptism. Welcome into God's family, little one.

WHO IS THIS? NOT MY CHILD! haha

Charting

Ron and I made new homeschooling charts to keep track of what we are doing. I am not one for scheduling because having 5 children is not conducive to structure. lol
Instead of planning what we are going to do, I type in what we did. That way I can see what subjects are lacking and for which child. This will be helpful to see their progress as well.
Things are going well in the S household. We have been outside a lot more which is nice. Mother's Day was nice. We are going to check out a new church in the next couple of wks. I will let you know how we like it.
