Our family

...She had so many children she didn't know what to do!
Lately we have been doing two Math lessons in 1 day. I would like to finish Level A so we can start B in the Spring. Amelie is a whiz! I have yet to see a subject that she doesn't fly through.
She is already adding up quantities to make 10. She isn't satisfied just doing 10 either. She has to try it out with all different numbers. She is also writing out equations and finding the answers on the abacus.
Ricky reads me a BOB book daily. I can't believe my little Ricky is reading! She is picking up things here and there while I am with Amelie and she will be learning tonnes more when it is time for Cohen. I will have to see what stages they are at when the time comes.
We did a neat little experiment yesterday.
Get a clear jar or glass. Put in a light colored pop. You then put raisins in the glass. The gas bubbles carry the raisins to the top and when the bubbles pop the raisins sink again. They learn about gases and how they are lighter and can carry raisins. lol.

Sweet baby Callum

Where have the "S" family been? We have been so busy and enjoying each other so much that I haven't come on and updated.
This little angel is our sweet baby Callum. He was born on Jan. 7th, 2009. Brother and sisters are loving having him here and can't get enough of him. Mom and dad eat his cheeks regularly throughout the day too :)
We are going to be jumping back into blogging and homeschooling again. That is the joy of it. Homeschooling is so very flexible. Even when they are not being "taught" they are still learning in leaps and bounds! The girls got to see pictures of the birth and the placenta and had so very many questions. They thought it was fascinating. Ricky is now reading 3-4 letter words and the wonder in her eyes is priceless! Amelie is being Amelie and reading constantly and telling us things she has learned. Right now they are doing crafts at the table. It is amazing how well our family enjoys each other. They are always doing something creative and playing make believe. It is a wonder to watch! Cohen is talking up a storm now. It is very hard not to eat him up. He is very gentle with baby and constantly says...Aw! Baby brother Callum. So sweet! Roo is starting to talk now. We have realized if we talk to her and explain things she tends to cry less. So now we get down to her level and chat with her.
So the "S" family is doing great and you will hear from us more frequently now:)
